Neora's breath left her for a moment when she realized the meaning of Delbin's chilling words. Scattered all across the floor, hiding amongst the debris, were bones. Some were semi-complete skeletons of dragons, with skulls fully intact. Others were scattered bones from various individuals. Scanning around, Neora counted four skulls. There were four Scholars missing before… But were they the Scholars? A shimmer that caught Neora's eye answered her question. A necklace adorning a round pendant still encircled one skeleton. The next morning Delbin awoke alone. It took a minute for his brain to register what his eyes were telling him, for he stared blankly at the very spot where Neora slept last night. When he finally realized she was missing, he shot his head up suddenly. He sniffed the air for a few seconds and caught her scent in the air. He stood up to further identify the direction she went and he deduced that she flew east. Somewhat eased, he made his way over to the spot where she slept.
